Chapter One
The Lord created a beautiful baby girl on April 7, 1976, gifted
to the mother Lena Rashad Coleman and father who is
deceased. Lena named her Shonda, she was a light skin baby
with a head full of hair and freckles on her face, we called her
Cabbage Patch!
Chapter Two
Shonda grew up being the second oldest child. She attended
Martin Luther King School then went to Julian School. Shonda
continued her schooling at South then transferred to Carl
Hayden High School. Shonda was a happy loving person who
enjoyed dancing and rapping songs.
Chapter Three
Shonda began her life having children. Working as a manager
at McDonald’s and Circle K. While she was working at Circle
K, Shonda met Paul, who was a manager at Pep Boys. Shonda
later married Paul. Shonda enjoyed being a mom. She loved to
cook Mexican food. Shonda enjoyed playing music and her
favorite song was “Chocolate City” by Zapp & Roger. After her
husband passed, Shonda fell into depression and turned to the
streets.
Chapter Four
Shonda was known as Strawberry to others. She was a giver,
always trying to help someone. Strawberry started having health
issues, and she was on the list for a kidney and going to dialysis.
Strawberry wanted to get her life right with God. Shonda started
going to church, spending more time with her kids and
grandkids. Shonda gave her life to Christ a month before she
took her last flight.
Chapter Five
Shonda was preceded in death by her husband Paul Hadley
and brother David Rashad.
Chapter Six
Shonda leaves behind to cherish her memories, her mother
Lena Coleman, stepfather Norman Coleman, five children
Michael, Elijah, Jasmine, Myshaleek and Idajion, and seven
grandchildren, three sisters, Trina, Shanna and Myesha. A host
of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
