Robert Earl Shaw IV was born on July 25, 1987, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Donna Renae Griffith and Robert Earl Shaw III. He grew up in a loving household and attended schools in the Mesa Elementary School District, later attending Glendale High School, where he developed a life-long passion for sports.
Robert was known for his loving and kind spirit. He was a natural protector of his family and had a smile that could light up any room. Robert found his faith at an early age, cherishing church services with his grandmother and carrying his trust in God throughout his life.
He was the kind of person who always knew how to make you laugh, and his contagious personality brought joy to everyone around him. More than anything, Robert loved spending time with his children, nieces, nephews, and cousins, often gathering them together for fun and cherished moments.
As an adult, Robert worked in construction, a fitting career for someone who enjoyed working with his hands. His love for animals was evident in the variety of pets he cared for, from dogs to snakes. Robert also found peace and adventure in the outdoors, enjoying camping, fishing, hiking, and other activities in nature. Though Robert faced personal challenges, his faith never wavered and he always found his way back to the Lord.
Robert is preceded in death by his grandparents, Tillford and Dorothy Griffith; his grandfather, Robert Earl Shaw Jr.; great-grandmother, Ruby Mae Dennis; beloved sister, LaNeka Hendrix-Denman; his sons, Jeremiah and Robert Lamar Shaw; and his daughter, Loyalty Shaw.
He leaves behind precious memories to be cherished by his father, Robert Earl Shaw III; his mother and stepfather, Donna and Anthony Denman; his grandmother, Ruthie Mae Shaw; his sisters, Shauntese Shaw, Asisha Shaw (Matthew), and Kyla Aygeman; his brother, Anthony Ray Hendrix-Denman; and his three children, Demetrius, Amiya, and Demarius Shaw. He is also lovingly remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Robert’s beautiful and humble spirit, infectious laugh, and deep love for family and nature will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
