Oscar Greer Obituary

Please see scheduled service date and times below.

Oscar was born in Phoenix, AZ March 25, 1968, to his parents, Leon and Ora Lee Greer which has preceded him in death.

Oscar took his final rest and was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026, in Phoenix, AZ. He was seven of the eight children born in this union.

Oscar attended T.G. Barr Elementary school where he met a great deal of neighborhood friends. He then attended South Mountain High School. Although he did not play sports, those who knew him knew that he was a huge 49ers fan.  Once he graduated, he found the love of music and began to DJ with cassette tapes where he learned to master the art of DJing. He enjoyed playing for family, friends and parties. Oscar also had a passion for drawing, writing, fishing, and hanging amongst his family and friends. Let’s not forget the love he had for his old school, Chevy Impalas, cruising down the streets and bumping his music.

Oscar was a very hard worker; he worked for many years for Mission Linen as a truck driver that delivered to many vendors of the company. Years later he found himself working for Schuff Metals where he worked for 12 years and held several positions with them making metal of all sorts, he enjoyed what he did.  Oscar did not have a church home but enjoyed visiting many churches of different denominations.

Oscar loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. Oscar was rambunctious and swore he was always right. He could never lose a debate; at times he was stubborn but always meant well.

Oscar Greer is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Ora Lee Greer, his 2 brothers, Curtis & Michael, 1 sister Joyce Greer.

Oscar leaves to cherish his memories; 1 brother Stanley Greer, 3 sisters, Jannette Greer, Debra Greer- Higgs (Bobby) and Rorshell Greer. One son, Akili Greer (Theresa) and 2 daughters, Latasha and Traniece Greer (Elma). Four handsome grandsons; Jhay’Ceion, Joziah, Khayir, and Jhay’vyn all of Phoenix, AZ. And a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. We will forever cherish the memories.
