Our beloved sister and mother (Bay Bay), Ms. Mary Nichols, at the age of 64, from Phoenix, Arizona, transitioned on July 3rd, 2026, from medical complications at Tempe Medical Center (ICU care unit), Tempe, Arizona. Ms. Mary Nichols was born on the 30th of December 1961, to the parents of Mr. Mack McKinley Butler Sr. and Mrs. Mary Lee Butler in Scott, Mississippi. Ms. Mary Nichols is survived by four (4) brothers Pastor Johnnie (Gloria) Butler of Shreveport, Louisiana, Mack Butler Jr. of Hamilton, Ohio, Clinton Butler of Lilburn, Georgia, Michael (Cathy) Butler of Valrico, Florida; three (3) sisters Gloria Adair of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Earnestine Butler of Nashville, Tennessee, Laneal (Tina) Butler of Warren, Michigan, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

She leaves her precious memory with her one (1) son, Dego Nichols of Phoenix, Arizona., Friend Ms. Renina Lane from Saginaw, Michigan, Her Godson Lionel Bladwin Sr. Saginaw, Friend Brenda Crockett from Saginaw, Michigan, Friend Daphne Bond Saginaw, Michigan, Friend Ms. Thompson, Her special friend Mrs.Shawnte Aaron and her two special friends from the street ministry, Pastor Doris Gist ATC Fruits of The Spirit Ministry and Tonya Hickman Christian sisters from Phoenix, Arizona, and all her special friends at El Caro Senior Apartment complex, Phoenix, Arizona (James Marr, Susan Gill, Katherine Woods, Sandy Hall, Carla Gilles, Brenda Williams, Ron Riley, Kay Hubbard, D’Andrea Barber, Cindy, Walt, and Missionary

Ms. Mary Nichols was preceded in death by her (daughter) Passione Quanisha Nichols, (father) Mr. Mack McKinley Butler Sr., (mother) Mrs. Mary Lee Butler, (brother) Willie James Kennedy, (sister) Tommie Lee Prince, and (Nephew) Mansa (Tyrone) Prince.

Ms. Mary Nichols was raised in a loving home by a loving father, mother, and siblings in Saginaw, Michigan. Her home environment was established on biblical principles, values, and morals. Under the leadership of Reverend Levi Cole of Mercy Temple Baptist Church, she accepted God into her life. She spent a part of her adult life in Saginaw, Michigan, attending public schools. She moved to different states to complete the many chapters of her life in Iowa, Shreveport, Louisiana, and, finally, Phoenix, Arizona. During her stay at the El Caro Senior Apartment complex, she made friends with some of residents, and they became close friends. She became affiliated with ATC Fruits of the Spirit Ministry in 2019 under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Gist. That is how Pastor Doris Gist and Tonya Hickman became Mary’s friend sisters in the ministry. She attended church services and Bible studies on a regular basis. She had a heart of gold, and she cared about people. She was a very reserved person until you got to know her.

When she was not reserved and showed interest in liking you as a friend, then you became a part of her world. She was a caring person by nature, especially toward her dear friends. She loved watching her television shows, such as the FBI and CSI series. She often would go to the casino for fun. This was her relaxing time to get out of the house. During her stay at El Caro Senior Apartment Complex, she was involved in many activities such as assisting in distributing food and vegetables from the food Bank to seniors in the complex. She also assisted Pastor Doris as a Liaison person with the community to receive blessing bags from the church monthly. She was very support to Pastor Doris Gist foster children and others with health problems. She took over the Bingo game in the administrative office to give the seniors in the complex something to do for fun. Everybody she communicated with at El Caro Senior Apartment Complex became close to her, and they liked her. Ms. Mary Nichols (Bay Bay) will never be forgotten but will be missed by her family and friends.
