December 21,1992 Lantra Simone- Ledora Edwards gracefully entered into this world to the proud parents of Jackie Edwards & Brian Chest Sr. in Bedford, Tx.

Lantra was a beacon of light to all those around her and a burst of energy with a contagious smile.

A few years after her birth, Lantra unexpectedly became ill, but that didn’t stop her. She had the STRENGTH of Sampson, the COURAGE of Deborah and the WILL to LIVE.  She beat every odd set out against her and showed everyone who the boss was “Lantra”.

If you knew the type of person Lantra, was she loved her teddy bears, cabbage patch kids, cartoons and listening to classical music her favorite was Beethoven, however she really loved sticking her tongue out. When that tongue came out that meant leave me alone & stop bothering me, please and thank you.

Lantra accepted and learned about Christ at a very early age. She came from a family of strong faith from her parents, grandparents and great grandparents.

Lantra’s education started at Amy L. Houston Academy in the Roosevelt School District, where she graduated and went on to attend Coronado High School in Scottsdale, Az where she received her diploma in May 2015.

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. On January 29,2026 Lantra received a call for an appointment that she couldn’t miss. Proceeding her in death are her grandparents WT & Leona Edwards, JoAnne Chest & Herman Thompson Jr. Aunts Linda Edwards and MearLinda Lindsey.

Lantra leaves behind to cherish her memories & legacy, her parents Jackie Edwards (Shelby) Brian Chest Sr. (Kelly). She had Plenty of siblings so here we go Layeshia (Richard), SaGarrah, Keith, Dante (Marlen), Jayden, Jaren, Brianna, SaTavia, Javan, Kierra, Komare, Kellani, Jamir, Jo’Vonte & Kayden. Her Aunt’s LaToya, Sherkyro, Sharita & her Uncle Curtis. Her nieces & nephews Dezi, Sunni, Hezekiah, Elijah, Khi, Cortez, Ky ‘Mir, Ky’Monii and Kyro. Lantra leaves a universe of other extended family and friends to celebrate her memory.
