Joyce Louise Chambers, 79, of Phoenix, Arizona, gained her heavenly wings on June 11, 2026.

Joyce was born February 2, 1947, to Arzie Chambers and Mary Louise Gray. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose love, kindness, and beauty touched the lives of many.

She attended Phoenix Union High School before entering the workforce. Joyce began her career at Digital Equipment Corporation and later worked at AG as a mailroom clerk. She eventually went on to work for the state as a clerk with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, where she faithfully served until her retirement in 2012.

Joyce became the proud mother of her first daughter, Teresa. She later welcomed another daughter, Vannesa, who sadly passed away in infancy due to pneumonia. And then her youngest daughter, Michelle, completed her family.

Joyce is lovingly survived by her daughters, Teresa Jackson and Michelle Fleming, her son-in- Law Jesse Fleming, as well as her bonus daughter Tonjua Sibley. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren: Britney Jackson, Durand “DJ” White, Jesse “Jay” Fleming Jr., Cherelle Fleming, and Keyon Jackson; twelve great- grandchildren Lanaya Jones, Isaiah White, Elijah White, Sariya White, Khadi Fleming, Karter Fleming, Ha’zi Donald, Mariah Del Ponte, Savanna Del Ponte, Cameron Del Ponte, Zarieae Stovall, and Zaden Stovall. And her dearest friends Alma Hall, and Georgia Carroll.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arzie Chambers and Mary Louise Gray; her daughter Vanessa Jackson; her longtime companion, Jerry Acles; her favorite cousin Mary Graves; and her dear friend Virgina Grubbs.

Joyce will be remembered as a beautiful, sweet, and graceful woman. She lived a simple but meaningful life, finding joy in spending time with family and friends. She was a valued and beloved member of Family of Faith Chrisitan Church, where she was affectionately known as Mother Joyce. She had a natural gift for interior design, enjoyed trying her luck at the casino from time to time, and loved to dance. Her presence was a precious gift to all who knew her, and the love she shared will live on forever in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone blessed to know her.
