John (aka Johnny) Jermaine Williams was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on Thursday, October 12, 1978, to Cheryl Perkins-Williams and the late John W. Williams. He was the third-oldest grandchild, being the first-born grandson. He was nicknamed John boy and Johnny Appleseed by his late uncle Billy Perkins.
Johnny was very smart and intelligent if you really got to know and had conversations with him from his childhood to adulthood.
Johnny attended John F. Kennedy Elementary, V.H. Lassen, Crockett Elementary, Edison Elementary,Osborn Middle School, and Central High School. He was involved in sports activities like baseball, basketball, football, and ran track. He loved sports, he was so excited when he recently attended a Cardinals game with his cousins Eric and Charles (Dubbo). As a child he would attend ASU football games and went on fishing trips with his papa Floyd. He loved basketball and football the most. His first job was working for Danny's Truck Wash; he later became a manager for Sonics Drive-In and Whataburger. He also once worked for Goodwill in Olathe, Kansas and other jobs in between one being a Cement Mason Fence builder. His last job working in a warehouse, which he loved and was happy, he had learned to drive a forklift and also learned other job skills. He gave it his all; he tried, and he did his very best that made himself and his family so proud of him.
Johnny loved playing The Lottery Scratch-off tickets, scratching them off always using a dime. He was an avid dog lover. Toby is going to miss his pets, human food, treats, baths, and playing with him.
He had a unbreakable bond with his brother's Troy, Ty'Quane, and sister Shamika. Back in the day he loved playing video games receiving his first gaming system The Nintendo from his late grandmother Freda Harris. He'd play for hours with his brother Troy. He also loved hanging out and playing with his younger siblings Shamika and Ty'Quane. One thing for sure: Johnny loved his mother, father and siblings. As he got older his love for his family never changed. He always stayed in contact with his family, having long conversations discussing childhood memories and more. At the end of each and every conversation, he would tell them that he loved them. Jonny became a father at the age of twenty to his first born son Jordan. He loved all of his children and grandchildren. He'd talk about them all the time, he wholeheartedly cared about their well-being. He wanted/tried to make sure that they all knew one another. Johnny had much love for his only nephew Damauri, it made him a proud uncle that Damauri was also playing sports, playing football and running track starting off in Grade School, Middle and High School, and now College.
Johnny has/had a family who genuinely loved and cared about his well-being, his late grandparents, late father, uncles, aunties, nephew Damauri, and cousins. And he loved and cared about them as well. He had a smile that showed off a beautiful dimple and a infectious laugh that we all or most of us have encountered at some point being around him. His love for his mother was unwavering. He would
always give his mother big hugs and a heartfelt kiss on the forehead when greeting and leaving her. He also gave the heartfelt kisses on the forehead to his aunts, cousins, etc...He had an amazing bond with his aunt Karren Dunbar-Lopez, he would always tell me mamma I love your sister. He loved and appreciated all that she had done for him with love. He also had much love for his cousins Eric and
Charles (Dubbo) who were there for him in his time of need, and they never turned their backs on him.
Even though Johnny had and went through trials and tribulations, as we all do or will at some point in this thing we call life. He loved God; he believed, prayed, and trusted Him. Deep down, Johnny had/was a beautiful, loving, caring son, grandson, nephew, father, grandfather, cousin, uncle. He had/has friends past and present who he also loved and cared about, and received the same love from them.
Johnny was called to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday July 19,2026 at the young age of 47. He is preceded in death by his late father John W. Williams, grandparents: Erenzo Perkins Sr., Berniece Perkins, Freda Harris, and Floyd Harris.
Left to cherish his memories his mother Cheryl Perkins-Williams, Troy Williams (brother), Shamika Williams (sister) Kennasaw, GA, Ty'Quane Day (brother), and Ricky Day (father figure). Johnny loved all of his children. He is survived by his children Jordan, Bryanna, Jaylin, Dayniesha, and several other children and grandchildren. And his nephew Damuri Wilson as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins,
other family and friends. Johnny will be truly missed but he will never be forgotten.
