Joel Cazarin Carvajal

Joel Cazarin Carvajal nació el 11 de julio de 1937 en Tlalixcoyan, Veracruz, México, hijo de Gil Carvajal e Isabel Carvajal. Sus hermanos José Luis y Guadencio Carbajal le precedieron en la muerte.

Hace más de 60 años, Joel aceptó a Jesucristo como su Señor y Salvador, una decisión que transformó su vida para siempre. Guiado por su fe, llegó a los Estados Unidos en 1965 en busca de una mejor vida para su familia. Su amor por Dios se convirtió en el fundamento sobre el cual edificó una vida centrada en la fe, el amor, el servicio y la familia.

Joel trabajó para la Ciudad de Phoenix durante 27 años. Comenzó en el Departamento de Sanidad y más adelante trabajó en Parques y Recreación. A través de su esfuerzo y determinación, siempre buscó superarse y crear un mejor futuro para su familia y su comunidad.

Servir a los demás era la pasión de Joel, y su vida fue un verdadero testimonio de su fe. Amaba profundamente leer la Palabra de Dios y compartir las Escrituras con su familia, amigos y con toda persona dispuesta a escuchar. Adoraba fielmente y nunca dejó de hablar de su Salvador. Su sabiduría, bondad y fe inquebrantable tocaron innumerables vidas.

Joel encontraba gran alegría al pasar tiempo con su familia y su familia de la iglesia. Le encantaba ir de campamento, nadar, hacer días de campo en el parque y cualquier reunión que uniera a sus seres queridos. Atesoraba los recuerdos de las playas de Veracruz y con frecuencia hacía viajes familiares de regreso a Veracruz o a Puerto Peñasco. Su corazón generoso se reflejaba en la manera en que invitaba a primos y familiares extendidos a compartir esos momentos especiales.

También apreciaba los placeres sencillos de la vida: una taza de café caliente con pan dulce o galletas por la mañana, las deliciosas comidas caseras preparadas por su esposa y un helado de chocolate de postre. La familia siempre podía contar con que él llegaría a casa con Church’s Chicken una vez por semana. Durante su jubilación, Joel disfrutaba ver boxeo, peleas de MMA, películas, repeticiones de “Manos de Piedra” y “La India María”, compartiendo palomitas y risas con sus seres queridos.

Joel será profundamente extrañado por su amada esposa de 60 años, Juanita Carvajal; sus hijos Jaime Carvajal y su esposa Kateri, Anna Maria y su esposo Juan Rojas, Enid y su esposo Gliserio Saldana, Lucy Carvajal, Marcos Carvajal y su esposa Maria, y Sara Carvajal; así como por sus nietos, bisnietos, sobrinas y sobrinos.

También le sobreviven sus hermanos: Jaime Carvajal, Hilda Carbajal, Gregoria Carbajal, Herminia Carbajal, Leodegaria Parra Carbajal, Elesva Carbajal y Virginia Ruiz Carbajal.

El legado de fe, amor, generosidad y devoción a la familia de Joel vivirá por siempre en todos aquellos que lo conocieron y lo amaron.

Joel Cazarin Carvajal was born on July 11, 1937, in Tlalixcoyan, Veracruz, Mexico, to parents Gil Carvajal and Isabel Carvajal, brothers Jose Luis, and Guadencio Carbajal, who preceded him in death

More than 60 years ago, Joel accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, a decision that transformed his life forever. Guided by his faith, he came to the United States in 1965 in search of a better life for his family. His love for God became the foundation upon which he built a life centered on faith, love, service, and family.

Joel worked for the City of Phoenix for 27 years. He began in the Sanitation Department and later worked in Parks and Recreation. Through hard work and determination, he continually sought to improve himself and create a better future for his family and community.

Serving others was Joel’s passion, and his life was a true testament to his faith. He deeply loved reading the Word of God and sharing scripture with family, friends, and anyone willing to listen. He worshiped faithfully and never wavered in speaking about his Savior. His wisdom, kindness, and unwavering faith touched countless lives.

Joel found great joy in spending time with his family and church family. He loved camping, swimming, picnics at the park, and any gathering that brought loved ones together. He cherished memories of the playas and beaches of Veracruz and often took family trips back to Veracruz or to nearby Rocky Point. His generous heart was evident in the way he welcomed cousins and extended family to join in those special moments.

He also appreciated life’s simple pleasures: a hot cup of coffee with pan dulce or galletas in the morning, his wife’s delicious homemade meals, and chocolate ice cream for dessert. The family could always count on him to bring home Church’s Chicken once a week. During retirement, Joel enjoyed watching boxing, MMA fights, movies, reruns of “Manos de Piedra,” “La India María,” and sharing popcorn and laughter with those he loved.

Joel will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Juanita Carvajal; his children, Jaime Carvajal and wife Kateri, Ana Maria Rojas and husband Juan Rojas, Enid Saldana and husband George Saldana, Lucy Carvajal, Marcos Carvajal and wife Maria, and Sara Carvajal; as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings: Jaime Carvajal, Hilda Carbajal, Gregoria Carbajal, Herminia Carbajal, Guadencio Carbajal, Leodegaria Parra Carbajal, Elesva Carbajal, and Virginia Ruiz Carbajal.

Joel’s legacy of faith, love, generosity, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved him.
