Jeremiah Wilson was born with a heart full of purpose, a sweet spirit, and a dream to make his mark on the world. From an early age, Jeremiah’s life was a testament to strength, perseverance, and faith. He was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure on April 9, 2015, beginning a journey that would include 43 surgeries from the age of 8 to 19. Yet, through every challenge, Jeremiah remained humble, determined, and full of love.

Jeremiah’s faith was a foundation throughout his life. He loved God and was saved, baptized, and dedicated back to God as a child at Faith Tabernacle of God church in St. Louis, MO. His faith carried him through his greatest challenges and reminded those around him that his life had a greater purpose.

Jeremiah loved and found joy through creating music. First inspired by RoNico Dozier, who played a huge part in his desire to learn the craft, making music became more than just a hobby for Jeremiah — it was his passion. He dreamed of becoming famous for his music, not simply for recognition, but because he wanted his story to inspire others.

Education was important to Jeremiah, and he especially enjoyed science, culinary arts, and media. During his freshman year, his home room teacher, Mrs. Rochelle Russell, provided guidance and poured into him from day one and encouraged him throughout his high school years. Jeremiah was also grateful for the school nurse staff, especially Ms. McDaniel, Ms. Becky and Ms.
Hillary who cared for him with compassion and dedication.

Family meant everything to Jeremiah. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and godson. Though a “momma’s boy” at heart, the relationship with his father was beautiful to witness as no matter the challenges that life presented, their bond was incredibly tight and indestructible. Jeremiah was a dedicated big brother who guided, taught, protected, and sincerely loved his younger brother, Kaiden Josiah Moreland.

He also admired his brother and sister, Kenneth & Ma’Kenzie Wilson, always looking forward to the time spent with them and deeply appreciated their relationship. He held a special connection with his aunt, Corrie Campbell, who was one of the closest people to him outside of his parents and was lovingly cared for by his great-aunt and birthday twin, Charlotte Moreland, who had been a pillar in support of him.

Jeremiah was surrounded by a village of family members and loved ones who treasured him deeply. He will be cherished by his mother, Uvette Tarrae Moreland; father, Maurice T. Wilson; siblings, Kaiden Moreland, Kenneth Wilson and Ma’Kenzie Wilson; grandparents, Sheila Moreland, Pierre Williams, Gwen Wilson, Barbara and Leonard Thomas; aunts and uncles, Corrie, Mickaela, Michael, Michiya, Chikeyna, Ashley, Markela, Kennith, Kamill, Terrell, Leonard (Tameka), Lakeisha, Juronda and Chiterria (Billy); god-parents, Sharla, Latisha and Rico; god-aunts and uncle, Sherielle, Jasmine and Mike; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

Jeremiah will be welcomed into eternal rest by those who went before him, including his first cousin Casurie Tarae Moreland, his beloved “Big Mama” Stella Walton, and his cousin Darren Wilson.

Jeremiah’s life was not defined by his illness, but by his courage, his creativity, his faith, and the love he gave to others. Though his time on earth was far too short, his story, his music, and his testimony will continue to inspire everyone who had the blessing of knowing him.
