Jannie Campbell was born in Clarksville, Texas on June 2, 1929. She came to Phoenix, Arizona in the 1950’s with her beloved parents Earma Perry and Ivory McGee. It was in this city where Jannie began her journey and later married her true love, Roy Campbell. Together they purchased a home in south Phoenix where they raised their only daughter, Reba Nance.
Jannie leaves to cherish her memories through her siblings, Patsy Brown and Vergie Hannon, grandchildren Tonya Harris, Authur Woods, Jermaine Blackshire, and a host nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be reunited in heaven with her husband Roy Campbell, daughter Reba Nance and siblings Willie McCarthy, Roy McCarthy, James Red, and John Red.
Jannie enjoyed a good country meal, cracking jokes and being surrounded by family and friends. After serving a meal she would offer the best advice with nothing but good intentions. She provided comfort and stability to so many families. She encouraged hard work, determination and to never leave a stone unturned. After her husband’s passing, she continued to live life gracefully. She spread joy and positivity to all who surrounded her. She was truly an example of strength and endurance.
She enjoyed the beauty of nature and had gifted hands that could grow anything. She loved animals and caring for children. One any given day if you stopped her home, you would hear children playing, dog barking and birds chirping. Being around family and watching the younger generations grow brought her true happiness. She wanted everyone to remember family first above all things. Jannie touched the lives of many and will forever be remembered.
