Dora Carol Tye was born on December 4th, 1975, under the union of Reverend Bennie Lee Tye, Sr. and Mrs. Linda Carol Tye.

A native of the Broadway neighborhood in South Phoenix, Arizona, Dora attended John R. Davis Elementary School, Percy L. Julian Middle School, and graduated from Carl Hayden High School, Class of 1993.

Dora’s greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She treasured their weekly sleepovers, filling her home with laughter, movies, and late-night talks. She loved sitting down with them for arts and crafts, creating special memories with paint, glue, and the little hands she adored.

She enjoyed taking them on trips to the zoo and the museum and loved going out to eat together. She wasn’t just their grandmother — she was a steady helping hand in raising them, always present, supportive, and full of love.

Recently, Dora proudly earned her certificate in peer support and was pursuing a career helping others. Serving people came naturally to her because her heart was always centered on caring for those around her. Her love and devotion will live on through the family she cherished so deeply.

She leaves to cherish her memory her brothers, Rev. Tyerone Tye, Bennie Lee Tye, Jr., and Bennis Tye; her sisters, Rhodesia Tye, Henrietta Tye, and Lisa Tye; her children, Tatianna Tye, Salih Pack, Melvin Lewis, Melesha Lewis, and Jabrianna Tye; along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bennie Lee Tye, Sr., her mother, Linda Carol Tye, her sister, Yvonne Tye-Vinson, and her beloved son, Tytwin Tye.
