Angels waved the checkered flag as David Franklin Boatwright crossed the finish line.
David Boatwright Sr. passed away peacefully with his beloved wife Terry at his side on July 12,2020.
Dave was born October 26,1936 to John and Mary Kathryn Boatwright in Hornersville, Missouri. They moved to Phoenix in 1952. Dave graduated from Phoenix West High School class of 1954.
Dave worked as a Union Millwright throughout the state of Arizona before starting Boatwrights Auto Wrecking that he loved and operated into his 80’s. Dave had a passion for classic domestic cars. He had friends and customers nationwide with whom he loved to share stories and enjoy a cold beverage of his choice.
Dave loves auto racing. In his younger years he raced cars competitively at the Fairgrounds, 11-mile corner in Casa Grande and Manzanita Speedway 1950s-1970s.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, his son, and a grandson. He is survived by his wife, Terry, his daughters, Cindy, Ginger, Robin, Debbie, and Edan, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a large extended family and friends.
Without question, regarding old cars and Boatwright-they don’t make them like they us to.
