Candice Rakell Haywood Obituary

Please see scheduled service date and times below.

Candice Rakell Haywood, affectionately known as “Can-Can,” was born on January 29, 1985, in Phoenix, Arizona, to her loving mother, Janet Haywood and father, Obed Strong. From the very beginning Candice brought warmth, laughter and light into the lives of everyone who knew her. Her presence was a gift, and her spirit left an unforgettable mark on her family and friends.

Candice was an exceptional student at Central High School. Candice was a proud daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She cherished her family deeply and found her greatest joy in spending time with them. Whether gathered in the kitchen cooking delicious meals, sharing stories filled with laughter, or simply enjoying music together. Candice valued the moments that created lasting memories.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, grandfather, aunt and other beloved family members who welcomed her home.

Left to cherish her precious memory are her loving mother, Janet Haywood; her devoted father Obed Strong; her grandmother Mary Haywood; her sons, Aaron and Semajeon Haywood, Jack Mastro and Zaron Strong; her beloved grandson Semajeon Haywood Jr.; her sisters Shae, Myeshia, and Autumn; her nieces Zariah, Hyra, Tenaj, Zyi’Onah, Millie, Malinie, Lala; her brothers Vincent, Wesley, Tyler; her nephews Floyd, Rashe, Kameron, King, Arrow, Owen and Little Hassian; her aunts, Danita, Jada, Leslie, Lele, and Barbara Jean; along with a host of loving and supportive cousins, boyfriend, step kids and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Candice life, though far too short, was filled with love, strength, and meaningful connections. Her laughter, her love for music, and her dedication to her family will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew her.

Though she is no longer here with us in body, her spirit lives on in the memories we cherish and the love she leaves behind.
