Aretha Lee Anderson also known as (Tiny) was born December 15, 1962 to Archie Lee & Anita Anderson in McNary, Arizona. Sooner after, the family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona. Aretha attended elementary school in the Roosevelt School District in South Phoenix and attended South Mountain High School where she participated in different sports and graduated a year early with plans of joining the military. Well, the Lord had a different plan for Aretha, he blessed her with motherhood with her first child, giving her parents their first grandchild, Shamillia Harris. Aretha would soon have three more children, the oldest son Jerome Anderson, second daughter Khamillia Harris, and youngest son Morris Wooten. Raising her children was the most important thing in her life, family was first.
Aretha worked for the State of Arizona for many years. She juggled full-time employment, raising four children, and continuing her education to get her Associates Degree from South Mountain Community College. Aretha was very festive, creative, and absolutely loved the holidays. From creating Thanksgiving & Christmas décor, to completely transforming her home into a winter wonderland, this was the time of year where she shined the brightest. Aretha created traditions that transcended past her family and touched the lives of countless others.
Aretha had this candid ability of leadership, and people would listen and acknowledge her words of wisdom. Aretha was very spontaneous and witty, you never knew what she was going to say or what grand idea she was contemplating, she would just do it, that’s the personality that people loved so much. Aretha loved the outdoors, loved fishing, bowling, talking trash playing dominoes, making jewelry, blankets and just enjoying life. Aretha loved to have a good time and always wanted to be around family. Aretha new a lot of people and created lasting friendships.
After her long battle with cancer she is at peace. Aretha joins her sister Vivian Lee Anderson, mother & father Archie Lee & Anita Anderson in heaven, and is survived by her children Shamillia Harris, Khamillia Harris, Morris Wooten, Jerome & Anastasia Anderson, two grandchildren SirVelvet Harris & Zabrina Harris, her siblings Ramona (Faye) Hagler, Archie Lee Anderson Jr., Beverly Anderson, Antoine Anderson, Linda Langston of Phoenix, AZ, Barbra Hollman Pineland,TX, and a host of cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends.
