Aamon Dwight Smith was born on November 01, 1993, to Dwight Aamon Smith and Henrietta Hooks at Daniel Freeman Hospital in Inglewood, California. He was the first born of five siblings. Aamon’s death came as an unwelcomed surprise which has left him, forever 32. Aamon had no children to carry on in his honor. Aamon was proceeded in death by his father, Dwight Smith (1997), paternal grandmother, Debra Ann Garlington Smith Wadsworth (2000), maternal aunt, Dora Tye (2026), and fictive aunt, Jeffrey Threadgill Leach (2023).

Aamon started walking at just eight months old. He was a happy baby who had the cutest and most contagious smile, and an infectious laugh, that he carried throughout life, even during the tough times. He brightened everyone's day simply with his presence. Aamon attended Morgan Elementary School, Bob Murphy Middle School, and Carter High School in Rialto, CA. As he grew up, like his father, Aamon’s curiosity led him to be quite advanced in many things which kept him one step ahead of the pack and always had a solution. As a teenager, Aamon was quite popular among his friends who found him fun to be around. Aamon loved to joke around with cousins and friends, hang out at the mall, listen to music, and he enjoyed different kinds of foods whereas his favorite food was chili cheese fries. Aamon carried himself with pride. He was a handsome dude and knew it, so he stayed fly but did not like his picture taken. Although blue was his favorite color, Aamon was always spotted in a red hat. He was surely a number one pick with the girls.

Skateboarding became Aamon’s passion but he still hung out with friends who were on different paths of life. Aamon was nonjudgemental, believing deep down that most people were good natured and had good intentions. Unfortunately, his trusting nature resulted in him having spent a portion of his life in confinement, where he was introduced to a world that his innocence was not prepared for and was the onset of his mental health. Regardless, Aamon continued to pursue his education. It was then that Aamon began to rap, as his father did, just with his own style. Aamon also made it a point to make sure his siblings were good mentally and financially.

Aamon was blessed to know God through his paternal grandfather, Frederick Smith who made it his mission to share the life of Jesus with all of his offspring. Although his grandpa wasn’t always sure what he taught would penetrate, Aamon accepted Christ, as it instilled in him hope, which helped him navigate life. As an adult, Aamon, built a life in Mesa, AZ where he worked when he could, and lived independently. He would check in periodically with all of his family, especially his grandpa and sister, Aamonisha. Aamon learned he could depend on his mom even after he tested her last nerve at times. His paternal aunts and uncles cherished the calls. Having remembered the times of his early childhood in AZ, Aamon became very close with his maternal aunt, Dawntaya who was also his confidant as she no matter what, always treated him with dignity and respect.

Aamon, leaves to cherish his siblings, Aamonisha “Della” Smith and daughter, O’Ana Corley, Aawyght Smith and his two sons and daughter, Erya Mitchell, Emya Mitchell, and Shaheem Purify. He was also survived by his mother, Henrietta, paternal grandfather, Fred Smith, four paternal aunts, Niaela, Trina, Cora, and Lakhesha, four paternal uncles, Fred, Charles, Otis, and Anthony, a maternal grandmother, Johnnie Cravin, four maternal aunts, a maternal uncle, Hezekiah, and a host of cousins and people who truly loved and supported him. Aamon will surely be missed by all who knew him, and we will carry our unique encounters and memories in our hearts, forever.

“Aamon, may your quiet spirit find the perfect peace it always deserved.”
