Emma Bell Boss was born on July 30, 1927 in Rosedale, Mississippi to Lewis and Everlena Wright. She met and later married the love of her life Charlie Boss Sr. in 1949. To that union was born 6 sons and 3 daughters. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1957 with her husband Charlie Boss Sr. and their children.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Wright; mother, Everlena Wright; beloved husband, Charlie Boss Sr; sons, Lloyd Boss Sr. and David Boss; brothers, Johnny and Leroy Stanciel; sisters, Verleen Wright, Irene Zollicoffer, Lottie Miller, Velma Gaines, and Mary Thompson; granddaughters, Latasha and Ashley Boss; grandsons, Preston Williams and Aaron Boss; and daughter-n-law Janice Boss.
