Brian Collopy passed from this earth last Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Banner Hospital, Phoenix Arizona. Brian grew up in Buffalo, New York. He joined the Air Force in 1982. He was stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base Arkansas as part of the 308th Titan II Missile Wing. His duty title was Ballistic Missile Analyst Technician (BMAT). This was an elite group of airman who performed alerts at the large Titan II Missiles located in numerous silos outside the Little Rock area. Brian was honorably discharged from the Air Force in1986. Brian soon owned a commercial 18-wheeler truck and was in a partnership with a business that delivered commercial products all over the country. Brian soon made Phoenix Arizona his home. Brian was liked and befriended almost everyone he met. He considered his Air Force friends as his family. Brian was a selfless person. This was proven to be true when he undertook an almost impossible task of putting together a reunion of former 308 Missile Wing members. This Reunion took place last year in Little Rock Arkansas. It was an arduous task. Former members were spread all over the country. Brian spent a lot of his own time, money and energy putting together this reunion. He was detailed. Everything had to be first class. He designed a coin to commemorate the occasion. This coin was produced and was given to each member who attended the reunion. Brian reached out to some former members of his squadron, putting together a Reunion Committee. The Reunion took close to a year to plan. It almost did not happen. It was Brian's selfless desire to see the faces of his former Air Force family reuniting with their former commanders and non-commissioned officers that kept this dream alive. It was a huge success. Former members from all over the country attended. All ranks attended. The interaction was priceless. So much so that most members were asking when we were going to do it again. The Reunion is just one example of Brian's dedication to his friends. Brian was loved, respected and will be truly missed. We all stand and salute you! Rest in peace....Mission Accomplished.
